Signing of Contracts on distribution of funding for programs and projects of NGOs and communities of Croatian emigrants in the Republic of Argentina
The first financial support of the Croatian Government to the emigrant community in Argentina
On Monday, April the 29th 2013, MSc Daria Krstičević, Head of the State Office for Croats Abroad visited the Croatian House in Buenos Aires where, including the meeting with the management team and other members of the House, there was a signing ceremony of Contracts on distribution of funding for programs and projects of NGOs and communities of Croatian emigrants in the Republic of Argentina for the year 2012. with the total amount of 500.000,00 kunas. The financial support was given to Croatian Cultural Centre Rosario, Conjunto Jorgovan Asociacion Civil, the Primary Croatian Language School, Association Croatian Home and the Society of Croatian Catholic university and high school students. The funds were allocated to support social and cultural activities, as well as the culture and arts amateurism with the aim of preserving Croatian cultural activities and heritage – the restoration and repairment of instruments and folk costumes, the formation of tambura orchestra, the exchange of folklore teachers, class materials for Croatian language learning and the reconstruction of the Library and the Cultural Home.
Representatives of the NGOs expressed their gratitude for the financial support and pointed out the fact that this was the first such aid to Croatian emigrant community in Argentina by the Croatian Government since the gaining of independence, and they accordingly emphasized the importance of Croatian officials’ visits to emigrant communities.
